Barcelona Stars Plead For Man City Cyborg But Chiefs Ditch Pursuit For 67m Star Better Than Haaland

Barcelona stars plead for Man City ‘cyborg’ but chiefs ditch pursuit for £67m star ‘better than Haaland’

Barcelona chiefs dismiss signing Julian Alvarez from Manchester City to pursue other targets deemed more pressing

Barcelona chiefs have reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign Manchester City star Julian Alvarez, despite pleas from the club’s players to bring him to the Camp Nou.

The Catalan giants were heavily linked with a move for the Argentina international during the summer transfer window, but they ultimately decided against making a bid.

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona’s players were keen on the club signing Alvarez, who they believe is a “cyborg” due to his incredible work rate and ability to score goals.

Barca made Erling Haaland their priority

However, Barcelona’s chiefs were not convinced that Alvarez was the right fit for the team, and they instead opted to focus their efforts on signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland is one of the most sought-after players in world football, and Barcelona believe he is the ideal player to lead their attack for the next decade.

The Norwegian international has scored 23 goals in 22 appearances for Manchester City this season, and he is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world.

Barcelona believe Alvarez is not better than Haaland

Barcelona are also believed to be concerned about Alvarez’s price tag, with Manchester City reportedly demanding £67 million for the 22-year-old.

The Catalan giants are not in a position to spend big money on new signings, and they believe that there are other players available for a cheaper price who are just as good as Alvarez.

As a result, Barcelona have decided to ditch their pursuit of Alvarez and instead focus on other targets.
