Brandon Neely Charged with First Degree Murder
Brandon Neely, of Abilene, Texas, has been formally charged with first degree murder following the death of Chungu Mishele during an incident that occurred on Saturday, November 19, 2022.
A warrant for Neely's arrest was issued shortly after the incident, and he was taken into custody in East Texas on Sunday, November 20. Neely is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail.
According to the Abilene Police Department, information gathered during the investigation indicates that Neely had fled the Abilene area before his apprehension. He is not considered an imminent threat to the public.
Mishele, a resident of Abilene, was fatally shot on Saturday morning. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
