Brendan Gaunce Recalled by Blue Jackets on Emergency Basis

Forward Scores First Goal of Season in Overtime Win

The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Brendan Gaunce from the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis, the team announced today.

Gaunce, 28, has six points (two goals, four assists) in eight games with the Monsters this season. He scored his first goal of the season in Friday's 6-5 overtime win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Gaunce has played in 15 NHL games this season with the Blue Jackets and Vancouver Canucks, recording one goal and three assists.

The Blue Jackets are currently dealing with injuries to forwards Johnny Gaudreau, Jakub Voracek, and Patrik Laine.

Gaunce is expected to make his season debut with the Blue Jackets tonight when they host the Buffalo Sabres at Nationwide Arena.
